Much like your hair or skin, lash extensions require maintenance with both visits to a professional and at-home care. Your eyelash extension aftercare regimen is just as important as what happens when you come in for an appointment with us. You wouldn’t stop washing your face in between facials or not brush your hair in between blowouts; your lashes deserve the same love and attention.

Keep Your Lash Extensions Looking Their Best!

Here is a breakdown of the things you can do on your own to extend the life of your lash extensions and protect your investment:

Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse: Just like washing your face or hair, lashes need regular cleaning. Every day, natural oils and debris collect on top of lash extensions. As there is more and more build-up, the bond of the adhesive with the lash extension and your natural lash itself weakens, causing the extension and even your natural lash to fall out prematurely. We sell lash cleansing products at the salon that are specifically formulated for this purpose. Check them out at your next appointment!
Brush your dry lashes: After cleansing, allow your lashes to fully dry (air dry, hair dryer on COOL setting, or ask us where to buy a mini fan) and then brush them to keep them nice and fluffy! Keep clean lash brushes in your purse so you can avoid touching your extensions with your fingers.
Avoid oil-based products: Just like the natural oils mentioned above, products that we use around our eyes that contain oils can weaken the lashes causing premature fallout. Whenever possible, opt for oil-free products and makeup to keep your lashes in place and looking great.

Avoid high heat: Saunas, hot yoga, grilling.... what do all of these have in common? They revolve around high heat which can cause shortened lash retention. Steam and sweat will slowly dissolve the bond that is holding your extensions, causing them to fall out.
Show ‘em love: To keep your lashes looking flawless, avoid picking or pulling, say “No!” to mascara, use a lash serum, sleep with a satin pillowcase, and take a multivitamin. These may seem like small steps, but they make a BIG difference in the health and strength of your lashes.
Bedtime care: When sleeping, avoid an eye mask or resting on your face. The extra pressure and friction can loosen the bond between your natural lashes and the extensions.
Schedule your lash fills every 2-3 weeks: Depending on your lifestyle and natural lash fallout cycle, lash fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks while you have 50% or more of your extensions still intact.
